People who continually worry about every detail of their lives are like a patient in a mental hospital who stood with her ear pressed against the wall.
“What are you doing?” an attendant asked with curiosity.
“Shhhh,” the woman whispered, beckoning to the attendant to join her at the wall.
The attendant pressed her ear to the wall and stood there for several moments listening intently. “I can’t hear anything,” she said.
“No,” the patient replied with a furrowed brow. “It’s been like that all day!”
Some worry about what might be said. Others worry about what hasn’t been said. Some worry about what might happen. Other worry about what hasn’t happened which should have happened by now. Others worry about their future while other fret over the consequences of their past.
Put Jesus in charge of your worries today and walk in newness of life.
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? ~ Matthew 6:27
