One morning while I was doing my devotions, I read an article that was posted on a prophetic website that I follow and was so blessed that I felt led to share this liberating insight with you. The author’s name is Helen Calder, and she was rightly dividing the Word of truth in the narrative of Isaac leaving the valley of Gerar to return to Beersheba, in Genesis 26. The story reveals the opposition that he and his family and herdsmen faced along the journey each time they reopened an old well his father Abraham originally dug. The people who were residing in the land argued with his herdsmen, and each time, instead of protesting his right to possession of the well he chose the more excellent way. At this point I want you to experience the revelation the way I did, in Helen Calder’s own words: “When conflict arose, he was willing to let go and move on. He would name the problem for what it was, but he wouldn’t camp there. Isaac’s story reminds us that contention will come our way, but “dispute” does not have to be our permanent address. There are times to contend, but other times, God moves us on. Hear the Lord saying, “I have more for you!” Freedom and provision are up ahead!” Hallelujah!!!
While you likely have heard the admonition before to let go, as I have, I knew for certain that GOD had spoken to me through this prophetic insight, because my spirit was suddenly liberated from unnecessary burdens! This is why I can’t stop shouting GOD’s praises! Our Father can set us free with a timely word that, when mingled with faith, can give you victory. Glory! Too often we get bogged down in what we see and miss the freedom we already possess to decide to have a good day, or to be blessed, or to stay free of the enemy’s treacherous schemes. Having been delivered from the bondage of drug addiction, I cherish the Liberty that GOD gives above all else, so this word helped me remember who GOD is to me. When we release our attempts at controlling our circumstances, we position ourselves not only to hear from GOD but also to encounter HIS divine intervention.
Isaac’s story concludes with his finally arriving to a place and a well, where he was free from quarrels, and he and his family and labor force settled down to experience GOD’s continued abundance. For those who don’t know the story, earlier in the chapter, Isaac reaped 100-fold in the land of famine, and the point is that GOD supplies our needs so richly, that we should be able to surrender to HIS providential hand, instead of always trying to control everything. So, he gained his peace, supernaturally, without needing dreary clouds to part, the rays of the sun to shine down upon us, and the accompanying sound of an angelic choir singing descant. GOD often does great things for us in unassuming ways, like he did for Isaac in the story. Like HE did again for me through this encouraging insight. All this by letting go and giving the LORD room to show us how great a GOD HE really is! In GOD’s economy, letting go is typically the way to experiencing GOD, so join me, and let’s just let go, and let GOD, and we can move forward together right into GOD’s provision! Amen!
Your servant in CHRIST,
Pstr. Mark
